Montana Governor Greg Gianforte has signed HB 313 into law! Enacted upon being signed on April 18, the new law allows PAs with fewer than 8,000 practice hours to practice in collaboration with a physician or a PA with 8,000 or more practice hours.

Utah is leading the way as the first state to adopt the PA Licensure Compact! S.B.35, signed into law by Governor Spencer Cox on March 14, addresses professional licensing issues across several industries and professions and, most notably, includes the PA Licensure Compact.

South Dakota Academy of PAs Legislation Meets Opposition in Senate Vote

After clearing a key South Dakota Senate Committee on February 9, South Dakota Academy of PAs’ (SDAPA) priority legislation, S.B. 134, reached the end of its 2022 legislative journey following a vote held by the full Senate on February 22. The bill failed by a narrow vote of 19 to 16.
