The Tennessee Academy of Physician Assistants secured a significant win for PAs in the state last month. On May 26, Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee signed HB 1080, which establishes the Board of PAs – a tenet of Optimal Team Practice.

Oregon Governor Signs Legislation Replacing Physician Supervision with Collaborative Practice Environment

Oregon Governor Kate Brown recently signed legislation modernizing state statutes to reflect the collaborative way PAs provide patient care and making PAs responsible for the care they provide. The bill also made permanent changes to PA use of telehealth authorized during the pandemic.

DAPA Secures Top Legislative Priority, Two Seats on State Medical Board

Delaware Gov. John Carney recently signed HB 33, An Act to Amend Title 24 of the Delaware Code Relating to Physician Assistants. The legislation was the top legislative priority for the Delaware Academy of PAs and will create two PA seats on the Delaware medical board.

Wyoming Landmark Legislation a Victory for PAs and Patients

Wyoming Governor Mark Gordon signed legislation that repeals requirements for PAs to have a specific relationship with a physician or other provider in order to practice. The new law also recognizes PAs’ ability to practice medicine consistent with their education, training, and experience.
