Oregon Governor Signs Bill Expanding PA Representation on State Medical Board

On July 18, 2023 Gov. Tina Kotek signed into law HB 2627, giving PAs in the state more opportunity to actively partake in efforts improving access to quality care in Oregon. AAPA joins the Oregon Society of Physician Assistants (OSPA) in thanking Representative Bobby Levy for her efforts in sponsoring the legislature and advocating on behalf of the PA profession.

Lieutenant and PA Casie Parker Spends One Month at Sea as the Medical Officer for the NOAA Ship Okeanos Explorer

Lieutenant Casie Parker, DMSc, PA-C, joined the U.S. Public Health Service (USPHS) to serve the underserved. She does this every day as a lead surgical PA serving veterans in Florida. But as an officer with USPHS, she has also stepped in as a medical provider on tours that offer unparalleled experiences, like her most recent stint on an NOAA ship traveling 100 miles off the West Coast.
