AAPA Asks CMS to Make Permanent COVID-19 Waivers and Regulatory Changes

AAPA and 62 PA organizations have asked CMS to make permanent many of the waivers and regulatory changes that were put in place during the COVID-19 public health emergency. This would expand access to care for patients by enabling PAs to practice free of administrative burdens.

Nebraska Governor Pete Ricketts recently signed L.B. 755, which streamlined statutory language relating to PA practice and made changes allowing improved care to patients. Among other things, the law removes language stating that a PA is the agent of the PA’s supervising physician.
