In 2024, AAPA established the Michael Powe Leadership in Advocacy Scholarship to recognize PA students who have demonstrated an ongoing commitment to advocacy work on behalf of the PA profession. Now in its second year, this scholarship supports five PA students who are committed to carrying forward Powe’s legacy through their own leadership and advocacy efforts.

AAPA and APAOG have joined the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and numerous other organizations dedicated to public health and evidence-based healthcare in an open letter to payers and insurers.
