Medicare Will Largely Defer to State Law Requirements on How PAs Work With Physicians

Representing a significant and historic victory for PAs and the patients they serve, the final 2020 Physician Fee Schedule, issued by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), changes Medicare’s supervision requirements for PAs by largely deferring to state law on how PAs practice with physicians and other members of the healthcare team.
