AAPA Joins 200+ Medical, Health and Patient Advocacy Groups in Opposing Executive Order on Childhood Vaccines
August 18, 2026
AAPA has signed onto an American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP)-authored letter responding to the August 10th Executive Order on childhood vaccine recommendations.
The order calls for recategorizing vaccine guidance, reviewing combined vaccines and vaccine safety through a new task force, and encouraging federal action related to state vaccine requirements and parental choice.
“Our organizations, representing physicians, medical professionals, public health, patients and families, are alarmed by President Trump’s new Executive Order that advises, without evidence, reducing and spacing out recommended childhood vaccines. As measles surges across the United States and as respiratory virus season approaches, families deserve clear guidance from federal health officials that is grounded in science and aimed at protecting children’s health,” the letter states.
