The AMA Has Responded to Letters from AAPA
September 23, 2024
Over the past few months, AAPA has sent two formal communications to the American Medical Association (AMA), calling for an end to the AMA’s divisive campaign targeted at PAs. AAPA also requested a meeting with AMA leadership to discuss the matter. On September 19, AAPA received a response from the AMA, which can be found here. AAPA encourages all PAs to review the letter.
Following AAPA’s first letter to the AMA, thousands of PAs answered a call to sign an open letter and complete a survey about how the AMA’s campaign has impacted their patients and their practice.
AAPA President Jason Prevelige and CEO Lisa Gables are now asking PAs to share their feedback on AMA’s response by emailing [email protected]. AAPA values the input from all PAs as it carefully evaluates next steps in this ongoing effort.
AAPA remains committed to advocating for the best interests of PAs, and most importantly the well-being of patients.
