This PA Week (October 6-12), leaders from across the country took time to celebrate the more than 200,000 PAs who care for patients each day.

In total, 26 governors, mayors, and other officials issued PA Week proclamations to formally recognize the PA profession and celebrate its contributions to healthcare. This is a significant increase from the number of proclamations received in 2025.

Proclamations were received from Alabama, Colorado, Georgia (Atlanta, Augusta County, and Floyd County), Illinois, Kansas, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota (Ostego), Nebraska, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Texas (Lubbock, Edinburg, McAllen, Hidalgo County, State of Texas), and Wisconsin.

The proclamations highlight the role PAs play in delivering patient-centered care in every medical specialty and setting across the country, including rural and underserved communities. Together, they recognize the contributions PAs make in expanding access to high-quality healthcare and help to ensure patients, policymakers, and others understand the essential contributions of PAs in communities nationwide.
