AAPA Announces New Ally in its Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Efforts Partner Program
Partnership with Vituity Will Focus on Supporting AAPA’s Efforts to Address Health Inequities
May 18, 2022
AAPA is pleased to announce a new ally in its Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Efforts (DE&I) partner program. Vituity, a leader in multispecialty care that employs 1,500 PAs and nurse practitioners (NPs) across the country, will support AAPA’s efforts to address health inequities among patients – a key priority of AAPA’s strategic plan.
Vituity’s support of AAPA’s DE&I partner program will contribute to the Academy’s ongoing efforts to create and host innovative programming and events for the profession.
PAs coming to AAPA 2022 are invited to attend to the DE&I Commission Meet and Greet, sponsored by Vituity, at 6 p.m. EDT, May 24, 2022, in Room 309-310 at the JW Marriott Indianapolis. During the event, attendees will have the opportunity to network with the DE&I Commission and thought leaders in this space.
This fall, Vituity will also sponsor a session led by Tolya Thompson, PA-C at AAPA’s Legislative and Advocacy Summit. PA Thompson, who has worked in emergency medicine for over 20 years, will speak on the topic of inclusive, multi-disciplinary teams and the positive impact these teams have on outcomes. In addition to her clinical role in the ED, she is an author, community activist, and speaker who works to educate and support patients and communities in need. Her publications include the “Smarties Book®” series focused on building health literacy.
In the coming months, AAPA and Vituity leaders will host a webinar that will be available to all PAs, PA student members, nurse practitioners, and physician audiences.
Vituity offers a variety of career development, leadership, and recognition programs, including forums to connect and support and a variety of medical assistance programs through the Vituity Cares Foundation. Learn more at vituity.com.
