This Day in History: October 6

PA Week is here! Join us as we celebrate 116 years of history, beginning with the man who started it all: Dr. Eugene Stead! From the first graduating PA class to a growing profession of more than 178,000 PAs strong, there is plenty to celebrate!

Grantee Spotlight: PA Students Make an IMPACT in their Community

Lake Erie College PA Program hosted its second annual “Fall into Health” fair this September. The community event was established by Lake Erie College PA students to promote health and wellness across Lake County, Ohio, educate community members on the role of PAs, and build stronger connections with Painesville and the surrounding area. In 2023, the program was awarded a PA Foundation IMPACT Grant to support its project efforts and goals.

Parent’s Perspective: PA Andy Herber Shares Insights as the Father of a Cancer Survivor

With all three of his children spending their childhoods in and out of hospitals, Andy Herber is able to bridge the gap between provider, parent, and patient. At the upcoming Adult Hospital Medicine Boot Camp hosted by AAPA and the Society of Hospital Medicine, Herber will highlight several seemingly insignificant aspects of care that can have a substantial impact on patients and their families.

Opening Doors, One Classroom at a Time

During AAPA 2024, two Project Access sessions took place at local Houston schools to introduce students from minority and underserved communities to the PA profession and encourage them to explore becoming a PA. Learn how you can host an event in your community!
