Second Annual AAPA Health Equity Report Unveils Health Equity Roadmap

Roadmap Charts Course for Sustained Progress in AAPA’s Health Equity and DEI Work

AAPA has released the second annual Health Equity Report to give AAPA members and the PA community a look into how AAPA worked to advance health equity and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in 2024.

The report also serves as the formal release of the newly defined Health Equity Roadmap, which lays the groundwork for the organization’s efforts in 2025 and in the years to come.

“At AAPA, we believe that advancing health equity is a moral obligation,” AAPA CEO Lisa M. Gables states in the report’s opening message. “… AAPA will stay the course because health equity is not a political issue; it’s a human one. Achieving our goals will take time and a lot of work, but by working together, we can take tremendous steps on our journey toward achieving health equity and diversity, equity, and inclusion for our organization and those we serve.”

AAPA Vice President for Health Equity and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Kim Wiliams, MPP, said Health Equity Roadmap will support AAPA’s vision to create an inclusive and equitable healthcare environment by further engaging PAs as leaders.

“PA can help transform their patients’ health, their health systems, their communities, and our country by increasing access to high-quality care,” Williams said. “PAs are uniquely equipped to be leaders in health equity and can ignite change that will promote health equity.”

PAs can continue to stay engaged and informed of AAPA’s work by visiting the AAPA Health Equity & DEI Resource Center.
