PAs Needed: VA Hiring For 157 Locations

Increasing Staff to Combat COVID-19

April 1, 2020

While many PAs are on the front lines of the COVID-19 response, other PAs have been furloughed or had their hours reduced, due to the rapidly changing landscape in the U.S. Governors across the country are issuing stay-at-home or shelter-in-place orders, leaving primary care offices, elective surgery specialties, and urgent care offices with greatly decreased patient visits.

The Department of Veterans Affairs knows that the COVID-19 response will continue for some time, and recently announced that it is hiring PAs in more than 157 of its locations. The posting summary indicates that PAs “will be assigned to interested facilities throughout Veterans Health Administration in support of COVID-19 operations and may be temporarily appointed (not-to-exceed 120 days) on an intermittent, part-time or full-time schedule in support of the VA facilities across the nation.”
