Long-time clinician and accomplished health policy leader, Kathy Kemle, MS, PA-C, of Lizella, Georgia, has thrown her hat in the ring to run for Board of Directors of the American Geriatrics Society. A PA since 1979, Kemle has practiced most of her career in specialties related to geriatric medicine, palliative medicine, and long-term care. Her commitment as a teacher, leader, and clinician reflects her passion for improving the lives of patients.

In a letter of support, the AAPA Board of Directors wrote, “Those of us who have been involved with AAPA for most of our careers have crossed paths with Kathy in many professional contexts, which points to exactly why she would be a great asset to AGS. We are certain the depth and breadth of Kathy’s leadership experience would well serve AGS, its members, and patients.”

Kemle was recognized as AAPA’s “Outstanding PA of the Year” in 2008 “for her exemplary service to the PA profession and the community” and served as AAPA liaison to AGS from 2007-2011.

The election will be held in February. For more details, see Kemle’s curriculum vitae and candidate’s statement.
