Many PAs practice in primary care and are often times involved with their patient’s cancer work-up. Cancer prevention, screening, staging, and treatment guidelines are constantly evolving as new data emerges. According to the latest incident data available from the CDC United States Cancer Statistics in 2017, NY & NJ combined reported over 5,000 new cases of thyroid cancer, 4,000 new cases of head & neck cancer, and more than 1,000 cases of laryngeal cancer. The lecture will include a brief overview of head & neck cancers and focus on updates on prevention, screening, staging, and treatment.
