Advocacy & Policy Committee

Charges

• Attend state chapter meetings and report back to the committee.
• Provide feedback on HOD student delegate resolution drafts.
• Provide feedback on proposed Student Academy Policy Manual changes from the Student Board.
• Join the Grassroots Advocacy & Information Network (GAIN) and participate in GAIN initiatives. Encourage classmates to also join GAIN.
• Assist on other projects as needed.

Communication & Outreach Committee

Charges

• Assist the Director of Student Communications in creating and collecting content for the DSC’s Instagram account.
• Develop graphics for committee members, student delegates, and Student Board members to post on their personal accounts to promote Student Academy leadership and volunteer opportunities, events, and resources.
• Promote virtual and in-person AAPA events to the student and pre-PA audience.
• Assist on other projects as needed.

• Promote student leadership and volunteer opportunities to classmates and recruit students to apply for these opportunities.
• Develop a diversity chair guide for diversity chair officers at student societies.
• Contribute to the formulation of the Student Board Candidate Interest Session for students.
• Share relevant articles or resources with the Director of Diversity & Outreach.
• Assist on other projects as needed.

Charges

• Committee members will participate in Project Access, delivering at least one presentation in their community.
  • Committee members are also encouraged to share their experience and encourage classmates to deliver a presentation.
• Promote community service during PA Week.
• Assist with recruiting student volunteers for Conference events, including the HOD.
• For those attending Conference in New Orleans, volunteer at in-person student and pre-PA events.
• Assist on other projects as needed.
