Student Board Committees
Read the 2019-2020 committee charges.
The Advocacy & Policy Committee will review any submitted 2020 AOR resolutions to ensure they align with AAPA and Student Academy goals, policy and ongoing relevant work. This committee is also responsible for bringing to the Student Board any recommendations for achieving greater student awareness of AAPA’s ongoing work on behalf of the profession and recommendations on how to better engage students in advocating for PA-positive changes.
The Communication & Outreach Committee will review and analyze Student Academy channels, content and opportunities, and make recommendations for greater awareness. In addition, this committee will work with the Advocacy & Policy Committee to identify and bring awareness to issues affecting PA students and recommend pathways for communicating these issues.
The Leadership Committee will identify student leadership opportunities at AAPA’s Conference and throughout the year. The committee is also tasked with collaborating with AAPA in formulating the participants and framework for the 2020 AOR Leadership Panel.
The Service Committee will be responsible for assisting with PA Student Service Week and researching service project opportunities in Nashville for the 2020 Conference.
The Student Governance Committee will be responsible for reviewing the Student Academy Policy Manual and Bylaws and authoring recommended revisions to AAPA’s Governance Commission. This committee will also review and revise student election processes and guidelines to ensure structured, well-communicated, timely and transparent timeline and procedures that will point to optimal student education and engagement associated with Student Board elections.
