CORE's Mission: Equip current and future AAPA constituent organization leaders with the specific tools and skills they need to lead, manage and provide excellent service to their members.
Constituent organizations are strongly encouraged to send their leaders and those who wish to assume a leadership role at the constituent or national level of AAPA or the profession. Constituent organization presidents and presidents elect, at minimum, should attend.
Be sure that YOUR constituent organization is well represented and takes part in the essential educational sessions and group discussions at CORE 2009!
Leaders at CORE will:
- Expand leadership capabilities by learning about practical issues that focus on key Organizational Management and Leadership Development, Administrative, and Internal issues that are common to all leaders.
- Shape the future by increasing your awareness on important State Legislative Issues, Advocacy, Public Relations, and External Affairs.
- Exchange views with experts representing a “college of experience” in a speed consulting session that will address an array of questions that leaders encounter on a daily basis.
- Get together with national and constituent organization leaders, as well as AAPA staff to share interests and issues in an informal atmosphere at the Evening Networking Reception.
- Gain invaluable insights and learn practical applications for the AAPA tools and resources that are available to all constituent organization leaders.

To help you budget for attending the CORE 2009, we are pleased to announce that the registration fee for the meeting has been waived. Additionally, the AAPA staff has negotiated an excellent rate for you to stay in a single or double room at the Ritz Carlton in Arlington, Virginia.

Hotel Information for CORE 2009 Please make room reservations directly with the Ritz-Carlton Hotel, 1250 South Hayes Street, Arlington, VA by calling (703/415-5000); which is the headquarter hotel. It is conveniently located on the safe, inexpensive, and user-friendly Metro subway system, only minutes from Georgetown, Dupont Circle, and Reagan National Airport.
Mention that you are an AAPA CORE attendee to receive the special conference room rate of $197/night (single/double occupancy). Reservations must be made by Monday, January 12, 2009 in order to receive this special rate. Any reservations made after this date will be accepted by the hotel on a space available basis only and the group rate may not be guaranteed
