AAPA is seeking Fellow members and student members to serve on the AAPA Awards Committee. Committee members review Individual Excellence Award applications and select the AAPA Award recipients.
Term: All appointed members will serve at least a one-year term and review applications for the 2027 Awards cycle. Some members will be appointed to two-year terms and will also review applications for the 2028 Awards cycle. Term length will be determined at the time of appointment.
What to expect: For each award cycle, volunteers participate in 2–3 virtual Committee calls and spend time independently reviewing applications. Committee work is concentrated in February and March, and all work is completed electronically. Application review and judging for the 2027 cycle are expected to take place between February 18 and March 19, 2027. Between award cycles, Committee members should anticipate additional work reviewing existing award criteria and applications to make changes and updates to the AAPA Awards Manual.
Eligibility: All AAPA members are eligible except current members of the AAPA Board of Directors, current members of the AAPA Student Academy Board, and current paid staff of an AAPA constituent organization. While serving, Awards Committee members may not apply for any AAPA Award, write letters of recommendation, or submit nominations or recommendations for awards.
