Open to PAs and PA students, this webinar will cover practical tips to effect change and improve diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging efforts while developing a path forward for the next generation of healthcare leaders. You will discover how to create psychological safety for patients and providers, build a culture of empathy, inclusion, and feedback, gain organizational buy-in, and implement patient access and health equity into workplace culture. In addition, you will learn how these competencies are changing over time and which ones will endure. Finally, the speakers will share tips on unleashing your leadership potential and amplifying your influence in the areas of DEI and health equity.

Maureen Bell, MD

Arielle Curry, PA-C

Arielle Curry, PA-C, was born in Southern California. She obtained her master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies from Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, CA and is Board Certified by the NCCPA. She entered Emergency Medicine upon obtaining her Physician Assistant degree and continues to practice in that field.

Currently, Arielle resides in California and enjoys her free time exercising, reading, and frequenting local coffee shops.

Dr. Maureen Bell

Dr. Maureen Bell was born in Jamaica, West Indies. After completing high school there, she migrated to the U.S. She obtained her undergraduate degree from Prairie View A&M University where she graduated magna cum laude. Dr. Bell received her medical degree from New York University and completed her postgraduate training at the Jacobi/ Montefiore Emergency Residency program. Dr. Bell is the Medical Director of the Emergency Department at Howard University Hospital and the Chair of Emergency Medicine at the Howard University College of Medicine and has been in this role for the last 6 years. She is the 2020 recipient of the Wes Curry Award in Executive Leadership awarded by the American College of Emergency Medicine. Dr. Bell is one of the founding board members of the Vituity Cares Foundation, whose mission is eliminating healthcare inequity and increasing the number of underrepresented minorities in healthcare. She became the Vituity Physician Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in April 2022.
