The Florida Academy of PAs (FAPA) has a mission to empower, represent, and advocate for Florida PAs. One of the most impactful ways we do this is by providing high quality CME at reasonable prices. We have brought in speakers from across the US to provide updates on a variety of topics to meet the needs of all PAs. We know that Covid-19 has had a huge impact on the global healthcare industry and that many PAs have been furloughed due to low patient volume over these last 6 months. Other PAs are being recruited by hospitals all over the country to fill in the gaps where the need is greatest. At the FAPA Summer Symposium we hope to provide a refresher on many basic hospital medicine topics, to get PAs up to speed in these areas especially now, as they are asked to perform more duties and/or even change positions. Additionally, we are offering some student and new graduate directed courses to help PAs jump start their journey into the profession, as well as updates from the front lines of the Florida legislation and how this affects our profession. This program is not yet approved for CME credit, but conference organizers plan to apply for 47 Category 1 CME credits from the AAPA Review Panel, and combined with the CME offered by our partners, the Symposium will offer a total of 53 hours. We are performing the conference “Live” streaming from Oct 2-4 with all presentations being professionally recorded and left on the online platform through 1/31/2021. Please join us from wherever you are, to learn a little about the PA profession in Florida and a lot about a variety of medical topics.
