Use of Race and Ethnicity in AAPA
For all conference materials created and presented, AAPA expects faculty to act in accordance with AAPA Policy: HP-11230 which states: AAPA denounces the use of race as a proxy for biology or genetic ancestry and encourages knowledge of the distinction between race and genetics. AAPA recognizes race is a social construct and is distinct from biology or genetic ancestry. AAPA supports eliminating race-based medicine from medical education, clinical practice, research, and policy. [Adopted 2024]
