Complete PA Week Toolkit [21.6MB].
Celebrated every year October 6-12, National PA Week is intended to support, celebrate, highlight, and recognize the significant impact PAs have made and continue to make in health care. It is an opportunity to promote public awareness of the physician assistant profession and to salute the outstanding growth of the PA workforce.
There is no better time than this week to show your own pride in your profession by connecting with fellow PAs to get the word out about the tremendous contributions PAs make in health care every day.AAPA encourages all PAs, constituent organization leaders, and PA student societies to take an active role in the celebration and become a part of a unified effort to advance the profession and transform health care.
PA Week 2009
As health care reform takes shape in the coming months, it’s only natural that PA Week 2009 has an advocacy focus. PAs stand ready to deliver care as part of a medical team, and we’re asking you to take this message to your local policymakers. Their increased awareness about the profession will allow them to cultivate legislation that is inclusive of PAs and recognizes their vital role in effective health care delivery.
To help you make the most of PA Week 2009, AAPA has developed an array of PA Week tools and resources. We’ll show you how to:
- participate in advocacy outreach to policymakers as part of our PAs for a Healthy America campaign
- design and conduct strategic media relations efforts to promote PA Week
- plan and host successful community outreach events such as health fairs and health literacy events
- take your publicity efforts online through exciting social media channels
We created tip sheets to tell you what to do and how to do it, checklists to keep you on schedule, materials for purchase in the AAPA store, and downloadable graphics and materials that you can produce and distribute in your community.
