Blood Assurance is a nonprofit, full-service regional blood center serving healthcare facilities in Tennessee whose missiion is to provide a safe and adequate supply of blood and blood components, in a cost effective manner, to every area patient in need.
Blood donations from volunteer blood donors are used every day to save people of every age including premature babies, oncology patients, trauma victims and surgery patients, among others.
Whole Blood Donation
30 minutes with completed health and history questions, 45 minutes without.
Whole blood is the most flexible type of donation. It can be transfused in its original form, or used to help multiple people when separated into its specific components of red cells, plasma and platelets.
Double Red Cell or Alyx Donation:
45 minutes with health and history questions completed, 60 minutes without.
This donation is a concentrated dose of red cells, the part of your blood used every day for those needing transfusions. This type of donation uses an automated process that separates your red blood cells from the other blood components, and then returns your plasma and platelets to you.
Quickscreen QR code attached or bloodassurance.org/quickscreen are the health and history questions which can only be answered on the day of the blood drive per FDA guidelines.
Appointments will have priority. Walk-ins accepted but will be worked in, so wait times could increase.
