Physician Quality Reporting System (PQRS)

What is PQRS?

The Physician Quality Reporting System (PQRS) is a voluntary reporting program developed by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) that uses a combination of financial incentive payments and payment adjustments to promote reporting of quality measure data by eligible professionals, including PAs. PQRSwizard is a fast, convenient and cost-effective online tool, created by CE City, to help care providers rapidly collect, validate, and report data to CMS.

AAPA is happy to make the PQRSwizard available to all PAs, both members and nonmembers. The first release is for individual reporting only and is accessible through Learning Central. AAPA members enjoy the discounted rate of $229 per year. The standard price is $299. The second release will include group reporting.

CMS has a comprehensive fact sheet about its changes to the 2013 PQRS reporting requirements and reimbursement implications: Physician Quality Reporting System (PQRS): Updates for 2013 [PDF, 109 kb]. If you would like to learn more about getting started with PQRS before deciding whether to purchase the PWRSwizard, you can find a list of measure codes and payment information on the PQRS website.
