Maintaining a work-life balance is a priority often discussed within the PA profession, as well between partners in relationships. In honor of Valentine’s Day, we asked PA couples to tell us what they love about their partners.
Michael Maczis and Puja Gosai
What was your first impression of your partner?
Michael: We were in the same anatomy group, but Puja was always shy. It took her two months to say a word to me, but the rest is history.
Puja: When we first met, Michael came across as a know-it-all. But one day, he told a cute joke about puppies, and then I decided to talk to him.
What word would you use to describe your partner?
Michael: Irreplaceable
Puja: Ambitious
Michael Milner and Patricia Castillo
What was your first impression of your partner?
Michael: “She is damn cute….”
Patricia: “He’s a handsome, friendly and reliable guy”
What word would you use to describe your partner?
Michael: Trusting
Patricia: Committed
Ben and Molly Hodges
What was your first impression of your partner?
Ben: My first impression of Molly was that she is gorgeous, smart, and she seems like my type o’ gal!
Molly: I first noticed Ben’s handsome smile, his laid back, welcoming demeanor, and his drive. He is a slow-to-judge, open-minded guy with ambition and careful attention to detail.
What word would you use to describe your partner?
Ben: Motivating
Molly: Patient
Howard Straker and Jacqueline Barnett
What was your first impression of your partner?
Howard: This woman is radiant, smart, and compassionate. She is the one.
Jacqueline: He is the real deal!
What word would you use to describe your partner?
Howard: Inspiring, inspirational
Jacqueline: Intelligent, altruistic, and an advocate for equity and justice
Susan Lee and Charles Asamaphand
What was your first impression of your partner?
Susan: At 14 years old, I met Charles after he threw a water balloon at me. I thought he was brave and quite daring!
Charles: Quirky, in a unique and interesting way that made her lovable. That, in combination with her warm heart and contagious laughter, made me adore her immediately.
What word would you use to describe your partner?
Susan: Selfless. For the past 14 years, I have seen him grow into such a wonderful person who serves the community both locally and abroad.
Charles: Unforgettable. Since first meeting her in 2005, I’ve witnessed how Susie has and always will be one of the most unforgettable persons you can come across.
Jennifer McKelva and Michael McKelva
What was your first impression of your partner?
Jennifer: We first met in college and formed an immediate friendship. I’ve always thought he was funny, kind, and of course, handsome!
Michael: She was the perfect mixture of pretty, smart and funny!
What word would you use to describe your partner?
Jennifer: I can’t pick just one. He’s loyal, determined, and dedicated.
Michael: She’s a firecracker!
Cathryn De Guzman and Silverio Alvarez
What was your first impression of your partner?
Cathryn: Fun! We danced non-stop on the dance floor the night we met.
Silverio: I thought Cathryn was kind, very outgoing, and extremely beautiful.
What word would you use to describe your partner?
Cathryn: Silver is resilient and an extremely hard-working person.
Silverio: Cathryn is a very driven individual whose drive allows her to pursue her goals.
