Eligibility for Affiliate membership: Individuals from various health professions who desire to associate with the Academy. This includes pre-PA students, athletic trainers, and nurse practitioners.
Accepted or currently enrolled in a PA program? Congratulations! You are poised to join a profession that is 93,000 skilled healthcare providers strong and growing! AAPA provides you with the tools and information needed to help you excel in PA school and successfully transition to practice. Student members have access to professional development resources, career tools and many opportunities to get involved at the program, state, or national level.

Eligibility for Student membership : A student currently enrolled in an ARC-PA accredited PA program. Students within 90 days of their graduation date do not qualify for a student membership.
As a practicing, licensed PA, you qualify for Fellow membership! This is our premier membership category and gives you full access to all benefits and products-from voting privileges in the House of Delegates to a variety of clinical tools, resources and publications. Fellow membership provides you with more than 400 CME activities through Learning Central, as well as industry and clinical news, so you can better focus on your patients. You also have access to comprehensive, nationwide salary information, contract negotiation guides, ACA briefs and much more.

Eligibility for the Sustaining membership: A physician assistant who is eligible for the Fellow category but has taken a sabbatical or chosen not to practice temporarily.
Eligibility for Retired membership : A PA who is a former Fellow member, has chosen to retire from practice, and opts to be classified as a retired member. To qualify you must have graduated 15 or more years ago and maintained 12 or more years of Fellow membership. Retired members do not have voting privileges.
