AAPA26: Call for Presentations for Students

Do you have a passion for sharing your knowledge? PA Students want to learn from you at AAPA26! Prepare your topic and complete the Call for Presentations application by November 23, 2025.

Applicants will be notified in early 2026 if they have been accepted. Applications will be selected through feedback from current PA students participating in our Student Focus Group Committee. We will select a total of 10-12 presentations.

We are looking for impactful, creative presentations that are uniquely topical to PA students and early career PAs. These types of presentations are not eligible for CME, and presentations with more of a clinical focus are probably a better fit for the AAPA25 CME track.

We are looking for presentations primarily for the following formats:

  1. Traditional Presentation (35 minutes+15 minutes Q&A): Conducted in a large room with theater-style seating for 200-300 PA students and early career PAs. Dynamic presentations with audience interaction, hands-on learning experience, or workshop elements are encouraged. The types of topics that have been well received in the past include:
    • Success in School: study tools, learning strategies, EOR/PANCE prep, time management, etc.;
    • Clinical topics (but not CME eligible): Clinical rotation success, specific skill development, navigating patient encounters in training and as a new grad.
    • Career and work force entry: the new grad job search, contract and salary negotiation, CV development, etc.;
    • Professional skills: networking, finding a mentor, interprofessional development, etc.
  2. Networking and Small Group Discussions (20-minute presentation + 30-minute networking and/or small group discussion): Conducted in our Student Networking Lounge which is set with couches and seating conducive to conversation for about 100 participants, presenters are asked to give a short presentation on a topic, recruit practicing PAs to participate, and encourage participants to network with each other, or conduct small group discussions on the topic.

The types of topics that have worked well for this type of format include:

  • Specialty-focus – Day in the life of a PA practicing in a specialty, employment projections, types of skills needed, advice for job search and new providers.
  • Affinity or topic focus – Interest or topic areas that may be interesting to students and new grads. Past examples include parenting during PA school, or working as a PA internationally.
