AAPA Nomination to the CDC Advisory Committee to the Director

AAPA is seeking fellow members to endorse for a position on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Advisory Committee to the Director (ACD). Nominees will be selected based on expertise in the fields of public health, global health, health disparities, biomedical research, frontline experience and lived experiences relevant to ACD areas, communication science, health systems and prevention research, and public health core capabilities such as data, lab, and workforce.

Members may be invited to serve for four-year terms. For reference, here are the current members of the ACD. Members will be required to attend ACD meetings at least two times per year (virtually or in-person), and contribute time in between meetings for research, consultation, discussion, and writing assignment. Strong preference is given to PAs that currently serve in a senior leadership role for their current employer. Federal employees will not be considered for membership. Current federal employees and federal contractors are unlikely to be chosen to be nominated or to serve on the ACD.

Candidates may self-submit to CDC by June 7 or may submit to AAPA by Monday, May 27 for consideration of AAPA’s endorsement.
