Appointed Representative Positions
About Liaisons

The Academy appoints AAPA members to be representatives to a number of different medical, clinical, and political organizations.  Calls for applications are published in AAPA News and on AAPA's leadership postings web page.

The Board of Directors makes the final appointments after a competitive review process.

Role of Appointed Representatives

  • Represent the PA profession by attending appropriate meetings
  • Provide information on the values and benefits of the physician-PA team and promote PAs as productive, flexible, and cost effective team members
  • Monitor policies and actions of the organization that may affect the PA profession
  • Provide reports to AAPA leadership groups and PA specialty organization when appropriate
