As a Clinical or Community Leader, the AAPA Toolbox offers some unique reference opportunities. The site map below provides some of the areas of the Toolbox that we feel would be valuable to review. Please keep in mind that all of the modules available can be utilized for reference or training, and would be worthwhile to look through at your convenience.

Leadership Development

Business and Organizational Skills
This module introduces information to develop the skills to work effectively and efficiently in an organizational or business environment.

Organizational Knowledge
This module introduces the importance of vision, mission, strategic plan, goals, objectives, values, principles, structure, history, and people within the context of an organization.

Business Knowledge
This module will introduce you to the knowledge and skills needed to develop a sense of comfort in the "Corporate World of Medicine."

People Skills
This module provides an overview of the skills needed to have successful interpersonal relationships in our personal and professional lives.

Communication Skills
This module provides an overview of communication skill building, including a list of specific goals and objectives, followed by resources for further exploration.

Abilities
This module introduces the abilities or characteristics that contribute to personal and professional development.

Becoming A Mentor
This module is designed to help constituent organization leaders mentor PA students in their local areas.

Core Leadership Skills
In this module we have chosen to examine contemporary thought regarding leadership and draw from well-known scholars of leadership to assign meaning to the word "leadership."

Teambuilding Skills
Whether you're chair of the board of a multi-billion dollar company or president of your state PA chapter, team building is essential.

Hosting a Meeting
Brush up on how to host a successful meeting by maximizing team member contributions and avoiding common pitfalls.

Organize an Agenda
A well organized meeting starts with a well organized agenda.

Dealing with Difficult Personalities
Regardless of how the meeting leader conducts himself or herself, the personality traits of those present may alter the group dynamic. This module is designed to assist leaders in working with a variety of personalities during a meeting.

Public Relations
This module is designed to take you through the basics of public relations, with a focus on media relations.

Strategic Relations
This module is designed to set the basics for defining or refining the vision of the organization.

Organizational Budgeting
This module is designed to take you through the basics of the budget development process and can serve as a blueprint for the budget development process for any organization in which you participate.

Current Postings
Current postings roles, responsibilities and available leadership opportunities.

Constituent and Specialty Organizations
There are chapters in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Guam, and in the Air Force, Army, Navy, Public Health Service, and Department of Veteran Affairs.

Medical Liaison Positions
The Academy appoints AAPA members to be representatives to a number of different medical, clinical, and political organizations.

Present/Proof a Paper
As a member of AAPA, you can be active without being part of the Academy's formal governing structure.
