Constituent Organization Leadership Meetings

Constituent organization leaders should plan to attend these meetings to strengthen their constituent organization leadership skills.

Legislative Meeting - Adventures in Lobbying are held in early February in Washington, DC during even-numbered years (2008, 2010, etc.).

Basic Schedule: February 25 - 26, 2008
Sunday - afternoon (Legislative Issues Orientation)

Sunday - evening (Welcome reception)
Monday - all day (Capitol Hill Visits with Members of Congress)

Monday - evening (Wrap up reception; return home)

Constituent Organization Resource Exchange (CORE) Meetings - CORE meetings are held during odd-numbered years (2007, 2009, etc.).

Location: Ritz Carlton Pentagon City, Arlington, Virginia

Basic Schedule: February 23 - 25, 2007

Wednesday - Friday, February 21-23 (AAPA Board of Directors Meeting)

Friday, February 23 - evening arrival

Saturday, February 24 - all day (Resource Exchange and Leadership Development)

Saturday, February 24 - evening (Reception, dinner on own)

Sunday, February 25 - half-day (Closing session; return home in afternoon)

The Ritz-Carlton, 1150 22nd St. NW, Washington, DC, (202/835-0500) is the summit headquarters hotel for committees/councils/Student Academy. It is conveniently located downtown on the safe, inexpensive, and user-friendly Metro subway system, only five minutes from Georgetown, Dupont Circle, and Reagan National Airport
