Why is this data important and how will you use my responses?
Your responses are valuable and will allow us to:
- Build the case for issues critical to the profession, such as federal funding of PA education and workforce development
- Strengthen the PA profession through federal and state advocacy
- Improve and build a detailed national report on PA salaries
- Conduct health services research
- Inform the public of the work PAs do
What is the census and what kind of questions does it ask?
The AAPA annual census is a survey of physician assistants, both AAPA members and nonmembers. The census collects general demographic information, compensation and workforce-related data to promote the PA profession and inform policy.
The annual census survey is different from the PA opinion survey that was conducted at AAPA's Annual Physician Assistant Conference. The opinion survey is used to assess PA needs regarding AAPA products and services.
Am I eligible to participate?
The census is open to anyone who graduated from an accredited PA program or who has ever worked as a PA. You do not have to be a clinically practicing PA to take the census.
How can I participate?
Click here to participate. You will need your email address and AAPA ID to take the survey.
