AAPA Patient Focus
AAPA Patient Focus is a new tool from the Academy to help you educate patients about physician assistants in the context of a timely health topic. It is intended to be a one-sheet, two-sided handout that you can download, print out, and place in your patient waiting area. We encourage you to download it onto a CD, take to your local quick-print shop, and print it professionally.
Issue #1 (Family History)
focuses on the importance of developing a detailed family history. It also introduces a brief discussion of genetics and how PAs are helping to bring genetic medicine to patient care.
Issue #2 (Preventive Health)
speaks to the importance of preventive health care, taking charge of your health, and living a healthy lifestyle.Future issues may focus on other health care or public health topics. They will always include examples of PAs working in various areas of medicine or working to improve health care in their communities. Watch this space for future issues.
