During the 2007 PAEA Education Forum in Tucson, Arizona, the first meeting of the PA Program Historians took place. More than 25 faculty and program directors from across the country gathered to listen to and learn from staff from the PA History Center about how to preserve the history of their respective programs.
It is a goal of the PA History Society (SPPAHx) to have an individual with each PA program and student society, state chapter, and specialty organization become the Historian for their respective group. The Society plans to hold a similar introductory meeting for the state chapters, specialty organizations, and student societies during the upcoming AAPA Annual Conference in San Antonio, Texas. We also welcome individuals who have a general interest in PA history to join us.
If you are interested in learning more about the Historians Project for either yourself or your organization, please feel free to contact the Society by e-mail at pahx@aapa.org or by phone at 703/836-2272 ext. 3902.
