The Foundation has a variety of programs that support domestic and global community outreach projects. We provide support for PAs and PA students launching, supporting and maintaining innovative community programs to improve health and human conditions in underserved areas, and for initiatives that focus on service, education, and/or research. In addition, we support PA students through our annual scholarship program, and PA doctoral candidates who are making a contribution to research on the influence of PAs in medical care through our Breitman-Dorn Endowed Research Fellowship grant. Students are also encouraged to attend our national leadership program, Gateways, held during our annual national conference. It enables students to succeed in future leadership roles as volunteers within AAPA and as health care providers in their own communities and provides skill development and information to help them to enhance their leadership abilities, along with opportunities to practice leadership through a special project.
