Reimbursement Issues
One of the AAPA's long standing goals has been to assure that insurance companies and other third-party payers cover the medical services provided by PAs. Medicare and CHAMPUS pay for services provided by PAs in almost all practice settings, as well as for assisting at surgery. Many state Medicaid programs and private insurers also cover services provided by PAs.
