State Government Issues
All states and the majority of U.S. territories have enacted laws and regulations authorizing PAs to practice medicine with physician supervision. In all 50 states, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, Guam, and the U.S. Virgin Islands, PAs are regulated by a licensing board whose regulations should be read in conjunction with the PA Practice Act.
