AAPA
has a federated structure of 56 chartered chapters. In addition, AAPA
officially recognizes PA specialty organizations, caucuses, congresses,
and special interest groups.
This
section of the AAPA Web site explains the process to establish a new
organization with the proper forms and detailed information.
The affiliated chapters
of AAPA are divided into six regions/groups: Northeast,
Southeast, North
Central, South
Central, and Western,
and Federal
Service. This section of the AAPA Web site is designed to provide
chapters and other constituent organizations with the tools and information
they need to better serve their members and the PA profession.
To
request a mailing list or update an officer's listing, visit the forms
section. You'll find a list of most forms that a constituent organization
may need.
AAPA
has many resources to assist in strengthening its constituent organizations,
including the PPAP
Program, and the individualized efforts of the members of the Constituent
Relations Committee (CRC). The mission of the CRC is to strengthen
AAPA through its officially recognized constituent organizations. CRC
has five regional representatives; one representative whose prime responsibility
is to focus on specialty organizations, one who focuses on caucuses
issues, and one representative from the Student
Academy of AAPA (SAAAPA). The staff of the AAPA
Constituent Organizations Services Division is available to provide
support for the AAPA constituent organizations in many ways.
PPAP
is a resource available to all AAPA constituent organizations to work
as peers with PA volunteer leaders to sustain and/or increase their
constituent organization’s continual improvement.
AAPA sponsors meetings and
programs aimed at enhancing leadership skills, including: Constituent
Organization Resource Exchange (CORE), and the PA
Professional Development Toolbox.
The Constituent Organization
Awards of Achievement recognize and reward constituent organizations
for their exemplary organization and leadership activities.
The Constituent Organization
Public Education Awards reward constituent organizations for exemplary
public relations and public education activities that emphasize the
physician-PA team.
PAragon Awards recognize
achievement of individual PAs.
SAAAPA awards, including
the Outstanding Student Society Awards, recognize student societies
for outstanding service to the profession in areas of membership promotion
and public education.
The
President's Award honors a PA who has demonstrated exemplary service
to the PA students and has furthered the leadership, educational, or
professional development of PA students.
The
Constituent Organization Officers Directory contains a listing of all
the officers of AAPA chapters, specialty organizations, caucuses, and
congresses. The directory also contains a listing of specialty organization
and caucus officers by state. The beginning section of the directory
contains lists of constituent organizations with total number of members
and dues information, their CME meetings, and their main phone numbers
and e-mail addresses.
The Chapter Lecture
Series Program provides the opportunity for your chapter to have an
AAPA approved Speaker on the current topics. A stipend of up to $3,000
is also given for having this program at your next meeting.

The Chapter Product Theater Series Program
provides the opportunity for your chapter to have a speaker on a variety
of topics. The CPTS sessions are not approved for CME credit. Click

Constituent Organization Reimbursement Resources provides a place for
your chapter to browse through prepared text and templates to post to
your Web site.
The AAPA State Government Affairs Center is designed to assist state
chapter leaders in their state government work. This members-only site
provide information on potential activities for Constituent Organization's
Government Affairs activities.
The AAPA Public Relations Tools provide resources to PAs and constituent
organizations for their Public Relations needs. This members-only site
provide information on potential activities for Constituent Organization's
and individual Public Relations activities.
AAPA through the Committee on Diversity is committed to increasing
support to constituent groups and members by providing tools for state
organizational and individuals to use in efforts to build diversity
and disparity projects on local levels.
Membership is one of the key activities of any constituent
organization. AAPA has several resources available to constituent organizations
to assist them with their membership campaigns. One of those resources
