Clinical Affairs and Education

Healthy People 2010 is a set of national disease prevention and health promotion objectives to be achieved by the end of this decade.

Healthy People 2010 has two overarching goals: to increase the quality and years of healthy life and to eliminate health disparities.

The Leading Health Indicators are a set of 10 high-priority public health issues in the United States. The indicators are intended to help everyone more easily understand how healthy we are as a Nation and which are the most important changes we can make to improve our own health as well as the health of our families and communities.

Patient Safety & Quality Care

AAPA's Quality Care Committee has developed a patient safety presentation that it can offer to any state or specialty PA organization. Thanks to a grant from the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality the QCC can provide the presentation at no cost to the constituent organization. Contact Bob McNellis at bmcnellis@aapa.org if you are interested in adding this presentation to your state or specialty CME program.

The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality has many resources for addressing patient safety and quality issues in your institution. Check out the resource on AHRQ's Quality Tools Web page.
