CME - Continuing Medical Education
These popular sessions, offered from noon to 1:00 p.m., provide a small group (limited to 30) the opportunity to further explore a topic with speakers immediately following the speaker's presentation. Tickets are required and will only be available to individuals who attend the preceding lecture. They will be distributed by session moderators at the conclusion of the identified sessions. This is NOT a lecture, but a post-session interactive discussion with the expert, so attendees are expected to come prepared with questions or cases for discussion.
CME Attendance Certificates will NOT be available on-site in Orlando. Individuals who MUST have certificates for their employers immediately upon their return from the conference should see AAPA staff at the CME booth in the PAvilion, Hall E1, in the Orange County Convention Center. CME Attendance Certificates will be available for two years after the conference via the AAPA's Web site, www.aapa.org. All registrants will receive CME Planners in their Final Programs to assist in tracking attendance. Certificates for workshops are NOT available via the Web site as they require separate registration. Workshop certificates are available at the conclusion of each workshop in return for a completed evaluation form.
To ensure timeliness, syllabus materials for CME sessions, with the exception of workshops and adjunct symposia, will only be available from the AAPA Annual Conference Web page. If you wish to have free printed copies of the materials, it is your responsibility to print them before reaching Orlando, whether you preregister or register on-site. Plan your schedule early to allow plenty of time to print out the syllabus submissions for those sessions you will attend. Syllabus materials are posted immediately upon receipt from the faculty and will remain on the Annual Conference Web page for one year. You will NOT be able to print syllabus materials at the Message Center in the convention center. Syllabus materials for the workshops and adjunct symposia are distributed to registrants during the workshops/symposia.
| Adjunct Symposium Registration
|
Registration for adjunct breakfast and dinner symposia planned by pharmaceutical companies will be managed by AAPA. All attendees preregistered by March 15 will receive an e-mail containing a personalized link to the on-line registration form. A few simple clicks are all that will be required to sign you up for the sessions of your choice. Some sessions sell out early, so be on the lookout for this important e-mail. Tickets for each session will be included in your badge envelope to be picked up on-site in Orlando. Because these are CME sessions, keep in mind it is not appropriate to bring guests (registered or otherwise). Registration is offered at no additional charge, but please be considerate of your fellow PAs and do not sign up for a session you will not attend.
Workshops provide small, comfortable settings to learn or review information and skills that are important to practicing PAs. Workshops are designed to allow more one-on-one participation with instructors as well as a hands-on learning experiences. Some workshops are free of charge, but all require preregistration. Fees for workshops range in price depending on the cost of providing the workshop (including faculty, supplies, equipment, etc.).
The workshop schedule will be published in the Preliminary Program and on
the AAPA Web site. Remember that the Web site always contains the most up-to-date
information. Keep in mind that there are limited numbers of workshop opportunities.
Workshops offer intentionally limited enrollment in an effort to maximize the
learning experience.
After receiving much positive feedback, AAPA will continue to offer workshop registration in advance of the annual conference. Preregistered AAPA fellow members may register for workshops on-line between April 25 and May 12; on-line workshop registration fees must be paid by credit card. To receive a refund of workshop registration, you must cancel your workshop by Thursday, May 12. No refunds will be issued for cancellations made after May 12. A limited number of workshop slots will be available for purchase on-site beginning the first day of conference registration, Friday, May 27, to AAPA fellow member registrants. Registered guests and non-registered conference attendees may NOT attend workshops. All other registration categories may register for workshops on-site on a space-available basis beginning two hours before the scheduled workshop start time on the day of the workshop, depending upon availability. Tickets for workshops will be included in your badge envelope to be picked up on-site in Orlando. It is important that you check your e-mail for the workshop registration opening announcement the third week in April.
Watch AAPA News and your e-mail for updates and detailed instructions about on-line workshop registration.
