Physician assistants are well-represented in primary care practice.  AAPA data shows that while PAs practice in more than 60 different specialty fields, 37 percent work in primary care areas of medicine: family/general medicine (26%), general internal medicine (5%), general pediatrics (3%), geriatrics (1%), and obstetrics/gynecology (2%).
