Read the Academy's policy on Health Care Reform.

In brief, the AAPA recommends:
  • Access to quality, affordable, cost-effective health care for all
  • Use of evidence-based medicine
  • Physician-directed teams of health care providers, including PAs
  • Optimal utilization of primary care
  • Emphasis on health promotion and disease prevention
  • Comprehensive medical liability reform
  • Payment mechanisms that are portable and sustainable
Read the Academy's policy on use of the medical home and changes to Medicare necessary to permit continuity of care for Medicare beneficiaries.

AAPA also supports federal funding for PA education that will help produce more PAs for the nation's health workforce. As part of medical liability reform, AAPA supports your ability to apologize for an adverse outcome without increasing your risk.
