Disaster Preparedness or Disaster Management is defined by the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Society as the organization and management of resources and responsibilities for dealing with all humanitarian aspects of emergencies, in particular preparedness, response and recovery in order to lessen the impact of disasters.

AAPA Policy

HP-3200.2.5  AAPA shall support educational activities that prepare the profession for participation in planning, coordinating, delivering, and evaluating emergency and public health services in disaster situations.
