Greg Thomas has been a physician assistant for over 30 years. He is currently senior vice president of education, membership, and resource development for the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA). His responsibilities include overall management of educational programming, overseeing clinical and professional CME activities; membership services, recruitment, and retention; and all aspects of resource (financial and intellectual) development. He also facilitates the development of collaborative relationships with medical associations and organizations. Thomas is a key contact for industry relations activities of the Academy and the Physician Assistant Foundation, including the identification and procurement of corporate support for a variety of programs and initiatives.
Prior to joining the AAPA in 1992, Thomas served as director of the office of continuing medical education at The George Washington University Medical Center, where he also practiced as a PA for 13 years. He continues to have a faculty appointment as adjunct associate professor of health care sciences at The George Washington University.
