Howard Glassroth, Vice President, Communications

Howard Glassroth is vice president, communications for The American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA), the organization representing over 70,000 physician assistants in the U. S. His responsibilities include oversight of media and public relations, AAPA's publications and its website. Prior to joining AAPA, in 2008, he ran his own communications consulting firm specializing in developing communications and marketing strategies for emerging companies and not-for-profit organizations, particularly in the health care arena.

He has also held the positions of vice president, public affairs at Warner Cable Communications (a division of Time Warner), and vice president, corporate affairs at Ameritrust Corporation (predecessor of KeyCorp). Glassroth directed external communications for The Standard Oil Company (now BP America) as well.

As senior vice president at two major public relations firms, Glassroth advised clients in the areas of market entry, product launches, media relations and crisis management. As a broadcast journalist, he was a writer, producer and news director, and managed various local and network television news operations. His industry recognition includes two Emmy nominations.

Glassroth received his M.B.A. from the Weatherhead School of Management, Case Western Reserve University, and he holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from City University of New York, Queens College.
