Retail-based Clinics Attract Attention of Industry Giants

Some of the country's largest retailers, such as Wal-Mart and CVS, are investing in store-based walk-in clinics. Industry watchers predict that the number of walk-in retail medical clinics will grow to nearly 8,000 nationwide by 2011, and earn an estimated $4.5 billion.

 

Clinical Resolutions on 2008 HOD Agenda

Several resolutions regarding current clinical topics have been proposed for consideration by the 2008 AAPA House of Delegates, which will meet during AAPA's annual conference in San Antonio May 24-26.

 

AAPA Asks Congress to Restore Title VII Funds

AAPA submitted testimony in late March to a committee of the U.S. House of Representatives and asked that funding for Title VII Health Professions Programs be restored to at least $300 million. AAPA recommended that a minimum of $7 million be used to support PA education programs.
